I'm going to ask for the codes, but I can't back away from the car. Lemon Law in CT doesn't give any right to return, just offers a mandated warranty for used cars. Right to return is only for new cars. Chevy did say it's most likely going to have to go to a toyota dealership, though, so they'll be repairing it.

I test drove the thing twice and it was fine each time. I already signed the paperwork. Plus even if it were under lemon law and new, it has to have 3 repair attempts before you can return. Maybe I'm being naive, but I honestly believe that, especially if Toyota fixes it, everything will be fine when I get it back. I'm just worried about this taking forever, and upset about that. Hopefully there are no more issues after this. We will see. I'll know more tomorrow.

I hope it turns out ok. Have you registered the vehicle at toyota.com/owners yet? There may be service history related to the current problem. I understand loving the car already and wanting it fixed.

I will register it as soon as I'm home. That would show me any past issues?

Yes. For mine it shows 17 service records all prior to my ownership, from recalls to oil changes to strange noises reported by previous owner. Very detailed.
Edit: it's only stuff done at a toyota dealership obviously.

The most recent service record was the only one that was for anything out of the ordinary. It read:

TRANSMISSION AUTO ~|~PER DEALERSHIP. CAR HAD A DEAD BATTERY. THEY CHARGED IT BUT STILL WONT START AND THE HYBRID CHECK LIGHT IS ON ~|~FOUND THE ORANGE HYBRID CONNECTOR NOT CONNECTED PROPERLY INSTALLED AND RAN THE HEALTH CHECK AND CAR STARTS

Which I assume just means the clip in the trunk was not snapped in properly. It's from January of this year.

I just got a call from the Chevy dealership. They sent it to Toyota this morning.

Ha, ha. That is number one issue when someone works on a Prius pack for the first time. Rookie mistake.

That was the first thing I checked when I had the problem though, so I know it isn't that. Thank God Toyota has the car now, though. The warranty says all work has to be done at Chevy, but I'm glad that they had to send it to them since they just have no one qualified lol.

Since it went to Toyota at 9:30a, I should except a diagnosis today, correct?

You might want to make sure that the Toyota mechanics are aware that it had been standing on the lot for 10 months. It could be something as simple as condensation in the tank, or perhaps "stale" gasoline.

The code scan will point us in the right direction.
Would be nice to get a printout of the Tech stream tab that shows the hybrid battery v-block voltages.

The guy at Toyota said he didn't see a record of it. He said he'd get to the bottom of it and call me back but I'm still waiting. Going on 45 minutes

I wouldn't be too concerned about the time. You will eventually get an answer. Mondays at most shops is VERY busy.

I got a call back. It's the inverter but I guess not what the recall was for. She said it'll be repaired and ready to go tomorrow, most likely.
