    In the housing upgrade trade, anything under a seven (7) year simple payback is considered a no-brainer, yes decision. Phrase it in terms of return on investment and you will see why.

    30k/year is silly but when I leased my prius it was approx the same price as a leased camry, so in that case it had an immediate day 1 payoff.
    Yep, 3 years is an insane return on investment and should always be done.

    Last October when I bought my Prius I figured up that I was saving $20 per week commuting back and forth to work and this was when gas was $2.50 per gallon. I still have the same drive and gas has been above $2.50 per since November 2010.

    My Fiesta is cheaper to drive than my Prius but the Prius is much more handy and I would never have 2 Fiesta sized cars. It is strictly a commuter and day trip car.
