Yeah I know, but you can push there till your thumb snaps off, without result. It's around the back of the L-shaped connector too, which makes it very awkward.

It's absurdly easy though, with a slim blade: just pry through about 30 degree and off comes the connector with a light pull.

Not even knowing where this is in the engine bay, I probably shouldn’t comment, but it does not look like a thumb would work well in such a confined L-shaped area as you note. Maybe an index finger would be better?....

For some reason my thumb worked really well, and the thing came right off with a light pull. Maybe it depends on where you squeeze? The clip you're releasing is a see-saw; the end you should squeeze is is farthest from the end of the connector. There's a fulcrum, and your squeeze makes the end that latches the connector lift up.

Again, moral of the story: be cautious spraying water down into there; at least one poor soul has had the pins corrode and short out.

Here’s a shot of our 2010’s this morning when I was checking the oil catch can level:

Never have sprayed any water in our engine bay over 9 years and 189 k miles ;).

I don’t tempt fate in my daily driver(y).
