Hi all, I recently replaced a failed clockspring/spiral cable on a 2013 Prius. No issues on install and it fixed my original issue of streering wheel controls not working. Problem now is that I have B1801 and B1811 that weren't there before. Does anyone know how to clear these? I've read on other forums some folks having luck shorting some of the pins on DLC but for much older Toyotas.
Those trouble codes are for open circuits in the first- and second-stage squib circuits for the steering wheel airbag. I would first go back and recheck your work and make sure the bright-yellow airbag system connectors were properly reconnected to your new spiral cable (both on the column side and the airbag side). Don't touch them until you've disconnected the 12-volt battery and waited at least a minute and a half. The steering wheel controls go through other connectors, so you could have left one or both airbag connectors undone and still have the steering controls work. If you recheck and you're positive the airbag connections are securely made in both places ... well ... where did you get this spiral cable?
