    RP,

You should add this to your post about the poor quality of US temperature data:

    ^^ NP, that is fantastic.

I was enjoying this one, with respect to recent cooling.

My favorite part is where he mentions he is cutting out data so it won't look like it's cooling.

After ClimateGate, we saw the whole "hide the decline" scandal. It is discussed in depth here and here.

The alarmist explanation was that it was merely dealing with the "divergence" problem. (Which is actually a horrible problem - the proxy temperatures didn't match thermometer temperatures, so they just deleted the parts that didn't match - LOL.)

I now present to you the REAL alarmist divergence problem:

Declining temperatures despite record high CO2 levels. CO2 alarmists had a good run from 1975ish till 1998, but unfortunately CO2 and temperatures diverged. Just like they did from 1940-1975. The wavy line going up is CO2, the trend line going down is temperatures.

    Alarmists will say "duh CO2 and temperature aren't a 1:1 relationship." I agree. It's a negative relationship - lol.

(This is of course not meant to be scientific. Just for fun. But driving home a point, really.)

Wait what? Climate change is cyclical?? No cause for alarm folks!

So long, and thanks for all the billions in grants!

(For fun, I teach 1 anatomy class per semester at the university in my city. I was told today that the university is receiving being cut millions of dollars from their budget. This directly affects the students educations. And yet billions of dollars are being spent on global warming research, which is the largest hoax ever. What a stupid government.)

You ask, I provide. November 2nd, 1922. Arctic Ocean Getting Warm; Seals Vanish and Icebergs Melt. Watts Up With That?

This is great ClimateGate email. It shows what a two faced jerk Mann is, and it shows how the CRU team all thought his hockey stick graph was a complete screw up.

Here is a short excerpt from the above link:::::

Two days after the previous exchange, Gary Funkhouser reports on his attempts to obtain anything from the data that could be used to sell the message of climate change:

His reluctance to report a “null result” (namely, that the data do not show anything significant) is extremely disturbing, as it flies in the face of standard scientific practice, which requires that all results be reported. The fundamental problem is that any censoring of results that do not lead to a predetermined conclusion will always—by design—bias the corpus of reported results towards that conclusion, in the same way that a gambler who always brags about his wins (but stays silent about his losses) will appear to be hugely successful, even if his losses have, in reality, far outweighed his winnings (as is generally the case, in the long run, except for the extremely skillful).

We will, sadly, see that this fundamental scientific flaw—which, in and of itself, is sufficient to render the evidence for climate change completely unreliable and scientifically worthless—is one that runs throughout the entire Climategate saga.

Note, also, the immense power wielded—albeit ever so subtly—by Briffa: he influenced the analysis that Funkhouser performed, simply by telling him that the results would need to politically “saleable”. Scientists are not naive: they know that securing funding, publication of their papers, and interest from other institutions are the key factors determining their future.

Yikes. I can't remember who used to post here that very incorrectly said there's no money to be made from Global Warming.

UN IPCC chief Pachauri under fire in India for conflicts of interest Watts Up With That?

UN IPCC Chief Dr. Rajendra Pachauri is under fire for conflicts of interest. Basically, he stands to make a *ton* of money. Not a bad deal for a railroad engineer (you gotta love the chief of the IPCC is a railroad engineer - LOL). Convince the world global warming is happening and make billions.

    This is fantastic:

DAVID ROSE: The mini ice age starts here | Mail Online

The media is now saying we are in a mini ice age. Global warming is dead.

I guess all those "hundreds of thousands of species going extinct at alarming rates" will have to wait for a while to die eh? Or they may just freeze to death. The cold is a whole lot worse for us than heat is.

Wow, that is great! If anyone is even remotely interested in climate change you've got to read this article. It is fan-freaking-tastic.

That one email from Jones is so incredibly damning. It shows that 1.) Mike jones "hid the decline." It shows that 2.) Phil Jones, in a different graph, also "hid the decline" (IMHO, Phil Jones' is even worse.), 3. it shows that the scientists in the group all knew they were fraudulently presenting the data, etc.

    It is insane.

I love this. It's undeniable. Here is an example of Briffa putting pressure on Ed Cook to change his paper to make it look like he supports global warming or they wont let it pass the review process.

This is freaking disgusting. You gotta love it, all the alarmists that say "OMG peer reviewed" and we see the process is complete crap. I'd love to just copy paste the whole article into this website, but RP linked the article above, I'll do it too:

    Climategate—analysis by John P. Costella, Ph.D.

    Greatest hoax ever.

If you remember, a prediction of global warming is that we will observe changes in our climate. A climate change prediction is that we will have warmer winters, and that snow fall and cold winters will become a "a very rare and exciting event." (From the Climatic Research Unit.) That prediction was made back in 2000.

So, since the "science is settled" (as alarmists would have you believe), you would think that snowfall since 2000 would have become a very rare and exciting event.

Sadly for the CRU, this is not the case.

This December was the 2nd snowiest December on record in the northern hemisphere. This is not an isolated event for 2009, as can be seen in the graph below. Seventeen of the last twenty-one Decembers have had above normal snow cover.

There are more graphs and more data if you follow the above link.

    Pretty funny prediction huh?

(Also, back on page one, don't forget that we showed the NOAA Climate models failed to predict climate only 3 months out!)

So how long until we hear that if we don't act now, the polar caps are gonna have too much ice and the oceans will lower to devastating levels and the polar bears will die because there will be no water, only ice?

This was truly fantastic as well:

It is very evident that these buffoons know nothing about peer review. They don't even test the results of the papers they are reviewing. This is such a joke of a science. These guys are so screwed.

They totally come off as a bunch of paranoid narcissists. They all know their research is poop and they are paranoid to give out any of the data or programs because they know it will be easily shown that what they've done is crap.

This is your tax dollars at work, people! All of you struggling to make payments or living paycheck to paycheck or whatever else, this is your tax money being squandered away by a bunch of know-nothings in a crap science.

    Nice quote from Lord Monckton:

BTW, you can pre-order the book "The Hockey Stick Illusion" which is a giant expose of ClimateGate.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/product/1906768358?tag=priuschatcom-20 after John Costella's expert analysis at http://assassinationscience.com/climategate/ not much else needs to be said.

You gotta love that one of the things they tell us is that our current warming is unprecedented (after all, if it has occurred before why have a cause for alarm now?) First we have Briffa telling us that he believes the MWP was warmer than current, and now this: Not this is still from the analysis, so read carefully, the parts after colons are the actual email text.

I sincerely hope the alarmists out there are reading and learning.

    Edit:

Phil Jones admits recent cooling since 1998:

    July 5, 2005: email 1120593115

Phil Jones sends an article and a blog entry to climate scientist John Christy:

Again, Jones’s ability to concisely summarize the key facets of this scandal are remarkable. That this leader is scared of his own “scientific community”—to the point of his not being allowed to state something publicly which he acknowledges is actually true, is telling. Could you imagine how intimidated the more junior scientists would be?

It is also extremely telling that Jones excuses his silence on the grounds of statistical insignificance only for facts, such as these, that go against the “relentless warming” message. In fact, his own colleagues have shown that all of their temperature estimates lack statistical significance. The correct course of action would be to be silent altogether.

Continue the trend, that's 12 years of cooling :)

I just thought I would post as a community service, otherwise it might look like NevadaPrius and radioprius1 are talking to themselves.

Well, come to think of it, it still does.
