Seems like most 3rd Gen Prius have a bit of clunky sounds when on less than smooth roads... I mean when the shocks are being active due to minor pot holes or rough pavement.

Has anyone else noticed this and been able to do anything about it? (Other than softer tires?)
I am wondering if it is a shortcoming in the rear suspension?

I think they overcame this in the gen4?

    Thanks
    Me

The Prius is a relatively heavy car for its size due to the extra hybrid hardware.

It's not meant to be a sofa on wheels.

Look at the Camry hybrid if you want a softer, quieter ride.

I don't think a steady diet of speed bumps helps, accelerates the decline of the suspension.

I loath those, take them as slow as possible, actually eschew malls that go overboard with them. I'll go further: there should be a special place in hell for diagonally placed speed bumps. Pant pant, wheeze wheeze...

Actually I prefer to go over them diagonally, it seems less stressful on the car.... always, always slow.
I have a video of me evading some punks shooting at me doing Uber at night. I had to fly over railroad tracks while turning. It was pretty loud. Gotta love Charlotte.

Maybe better for the car, but I always feel like I'm gonna dislocate my neck, turns me into a bobble head.

    Yikes!
