Beautiful car! Enjoy your long walks through the parking lots (avoiding door dings). Make sure you visit the "caring for your Prius" thread to get the low down on all the car care products that you never knew you needed (but need now....to take care of your new baby).

My wife was very happy that I wasn't in "as much of a hurry" as I normally am.. I stayed with traffic for most of the trip, and luckily the speed wasn't too much of a factor for most of the trip... It was around 7 pm for the trip, light traffic.

Well, she thinks the Prius isn't manly enough but doesn't like you to drive fast. I was trying to figure out what she does think is manly. :D

I'd assumed he just lives somewhere warm and flat, like, say, Louisiana.

When you get a chance, let me suggest doing a series of benchmark tests:
    • Warm-up car
    • Use cruise control on a flat stretch, 5-10 miles
    • Set a speed, reset trip meter, and read-out value at the end
    • Average the two directions to take out elevation and wind effects
    • Step the speeds up to 75-80 mph (different routes are OK as long as bi-directional runs)
This will give you a 'new car' baseline so you'll know what the best, expected mileage is as a function of speed. It will take half a day or two but when done, you'll know. You might have one of the kids collect the data and do the graph.

My gosh I love driving this vehicle.....

Driving it everyday since getting last week, fuel gauge still topped off at "F".. with the Frontier I'd have burned through a quarter tank easily by this time..

Now the trick is to try to avoid "finding reasons" to drive your new car. But it is great to sit in it, smell the new smells, admire how clean it is, etc. Glad to see the honeymoon is still going strong.
