I am looking to buying the front mask. It looks like there are two parts numbers for it -- PT218-47040 and PT218-47050.

One of the online site points PT218-47040 to 2004 model and PT218-47050 to 2005 and 2006 models. An ebay auction for PT218-47040 points to 2004 and 2005.

I am confuse and not sure if PT218-47050 is the part redesigned to fit 2006 front bumper with spoiler. Does anyone has any info to help out?

I ordered the Front end mask from sigma auto for 2006. However, when I call them, they told me it had not yet been released. They charged my credit card, but states that it would come any day now.

I bought a front end mask from my dealer who said it would fit the '06 Prius. After working on it for several hours, I can confirm that there is a problem getting the OEM front end mask to fit on the '06 Prius. The problem is that Toyota has added an air dam (aka spoiler) that extends below the bumper. With the air dam in place, one cannot attach the bottom fasteners to the bumper. I noted that someone else in this forum had said that he removed the air dam, then attached the mask and then put the air dam back in place so that the mask is squeezed between the bumper and the air dam. I am not willing to do that and took the mask back to the dealer's parts department which took the mask back and refunded my purchase price.

One other comment: the instructions that came with the mask are among the worst I have ever seen--the illustrations are useless because they do not relate to what I could see on the car.

I checked with Coastaltech about their front end mask and received a reply that their mask does not fit the '06 Prius. I could not find any other source for a front end mask for this car, so I will have to wait until Toyota changes its front end mask so that it will fit properly.

I have the front end mask for the 05 Prius (model PT218-47040 - both top and bottom). It fits pretty snug and no real scratches or mars to the finish to date. The one thing that I have trouble with is that dirt appears near the edges underneath on the mask pieces. Is there a good way to clean this out? The manufacturer's recommendation is to see the manual, but of course I must have thrown it out when I clean the car out sometime early.

    Thanks in Advance
