Completely Dead, Trickle Charge no luck

TOTALLY unnecessary IF the car is driven every few days for at least 10 miles or so.

And if you do get a small charger, it should NOT be a cheap trickle charger but an automatic tender type one; usually around $25.

 

That's cheap in my book.

 

You have to un hook it unhook it to
get the 12v battery to charge why you just have too or it will never charge but mostly battery old and bad

There is a difference between "inexpensive" and "cheap".
There are a LOT of good name brand 2 amp automatic battery maintainers on the market in the $25-$30 range. That is inexpensive.
The ones from Harbor Freight for $1.95 are cheap.....and dangerous.

 

The battery was charged, but not fully charged in 5 hours. When the battery is down, depending on it's previous condition, it needs to be charged at least overnight, and if the battery was in poor condition, perhaps for a week or two. Personally I use a modern 3a smart charger for this purpose.
