Connecting 12V Battery Condition Indicator(BCI)

    I just recently purchased a BatteryMINDer® Model 12118 AGM/OPTIMA BatteryMINDer PLUS for my 2008 Prius & it also came with a Model 12103 Battery Condition Indicator.

    I used the BatteryMinder successfully a few times using the jump points under the hood as suggested here by Forum Members.

    However, I’ve not found any posts suggesting the best method for connecting the Battery Condition Indicator (BCI). Should this be connected directly to battery or should I use the jump points under the hood?

    Is the BCI really necessary or should I just use the Maintenance Mode (aka 12V Battery Check), or a DMM for checking the 12V battery?

    If this subject has already been covered would you please provide me a link?
