This has probably been asked-and-answered many times, but can you just shut that puppy off? Or would that lock out crucial stuff, like climate control?

You can shut off the center screen and access climate control and radio controls the 100x harder way, through the MID.

You still have defroster and temperature buttons but yeah, you can control things via the MID or via voice control. ("set temperature to 21.5")

Priuscatprimeguy, that’s my fair weather screen. For winter in Minnesota, I need climate controls as handy as I can get them.

You really don't. It's been in the teens and single digits here lately, with frost, fog and snow occasionally, and I've almost entirely just left it in auto mode. I adjust the temperature with the buttons but that's about it. If my kids are in the back seat I turn off S-Flow when I get in sometimes.

The system needs relatively little interaction from the driver.

    1. MSRP and I had to order it here in South Carolina.
    2. I'm not worrying about it. I only had one tire problem bad enough in the last 22 years that it required a spare and i'll just use the safety connect and toyotas roadside service, or I'll use AAA, which i've been a member for decades.
    3. The safety features, and yes, i am VERY happy i went that way. (Getting close to 10,000 and six months)
    4. No clue, but I doubt if there will be any changes worth waiting on. Entune 3 would be nice, but I don't know if it'll get it and I don't think I'd wait for it. I really don't use the entune in my 2017 much.

Happy new year to you too!

The best feature of the advanced....heated steering wheel
Get the oem tires off and get the Michelin defenders on, steel belts.
7500 miles 97.3 mpg’s, going into winter, with this cold the ice takes over so overall is dropping, but it’s better than all three of my prior prii

you should all move to NJ (my house is for sale... getting the hell out :). The dealers here have them sitting on their lots. You can basically get any color combination/trim level you want without any wait and with the, now, $4K mfr rebate.

Just silly how Toyota decided to divvy these things out. I wonder how many of those sitting on the lots on the east cost would have been sold if they just sent "a few" each to the other states.

If Toyota did that it might hurt Volt and Ioniq sales.

Question. I thought the S-Flow in the Gen 4/Prime was automatic. I've seen it flip between "driver only" and "front seats only" but I've never seen it turn off automatically. I thought I read it somewhere that it knows if the rear doors have been opened and therefore will turn off S-Flow because there are rear passengers.

Sort of. It definitely knows when the front passenger seat is occupied, but I'm not convinced it knows about the back seats, especially with light-weight kids back there.

I hope it doesn't do the rear doors as I often store things on the floor in the back when I'm driving alone.

On the Gen 4 it definitely does not do the "back door" thing. I use the back door almost every day to carry items and S-Flow stays on.

Thanks guys. I guess either I misinterpreted it or they were planning on offering that feature but opted to just go with the front passenger one (That one is easy to implement since the passenger weight sensor is already there. I'm guessing the rear door ones need extra sensors).

Perhaps the back door needs to e opened with HVAC on. I do it while the car is turned off.

So you mean it won't work if you start the car after the doors open but it'll work if the car is already running and you pick up a passenger?

    Interesting....

Just a guess trying to make sense of the manual and my personal experience.

I got word yesterday evening that my car is at the port! They are still telling me it could be 10 more days to get it to the lot but at least I am one step closer to getting it!
