Considering removing the windshield wipers...

    I didn't read the entire thread. Too long.

    But, in response to the original premise:

    Assuming 45 mph.
    3.14% x 45 = 1.413

    The formula for yearly gas expenses is

    Normal:
    (15,000/45) x $2.299 = $766.33

    "Improved":
    (15,000/46.413) x $2.299 = $743

    Theoretical Yearly savings: $23

    For the mud flaps:
    "Improved":
    15000/46.224x 2.299=746
    Savings: $20/year

    I removed just the arm today and noticed that doing so certainly improves the visibility to the rear, in the outside lane just where it's needed, but until I check the legality here in New Hamster, I'll leave the mechanism, in fact I might even do this: tmp_14700-clean sweep (334x203)-200179669.jpg
    Well, it will be about as effective as the OEM wiper! ;)
