Consumer Reports 1st Take - CT 200h

according to Edmund's Insideline measurements, the CT is about as noisy as a BMW 3-series, which is not a quiet car.

db is logarithmic. 62db is A LOT quieter than 64db

What? a Jetta is quieter than a CT? Unpossible! Yup, VW knows how to engineer a quiet ride.

The CT is a noisy car with that knob turned to sport. It's one of the first things I noticed and hated.

 

I've been in a Jetta, and I've been in a LS. The LS is quieter. The above tests are obviously flawed.

it wasn't that bad. firm but not jiggly. Not like, say, a mini cooper

engine noise. not road noise. road noise was minimal

yes! needlessly so. Same with the Lexus IS. Claustrophobic.

do not know about the Golf, but the A3 is a nicer car. I'll bet the TDI is noisier than the CT, though.
