Continental Truecontact? TR sub $100 tires?

    I'm in the tire shopping mood again (Tire rack) and I want to get some eco tires and my walmart tires that the dealer put on before selling me the car are probably hurting my mpg. Right now there is a good deal and rebate on the Truecontact by Continental. I'm looking to spend under $100 per tire for some eco tires.

    Does anyone have any input on the Truecontact tires? MPG, how long do they last, etc?

    I've had TrueContacts on my car for a year and a half now. 15,000 miles, no discernible wear; I expect to get the full 90,000 miles out of them if not more. Much better wet and snow traction than the OEM Kumhos.

    I was happy with the TrueContacts. Good MPG and good in rain and snow. I sold my 2006 with lots of miles left on the tires. I now have Costco's version of the Michelin Defender called the X-Tour T+ H. Happy with them as well with about 10K miles so far. Costco's prices are hard to beat.

    Good news: got 60,000 miles of 50/50 city/hwy, compared with 40,000 of EOM tires.
    Bad news: traction not much better than stock ecopias and MPG noticeable worse. Noise worse too.
    You can buy them for ~$300 on special from discounttiredirect. They have that several times a year (holidays).
