controls that aren't lit or don't dim

    i looked at mine this morning and it seems more like the buttons are made of that green glow in the dark stuff... not really light at all, but visible in a dark enough setting

    Ah yes. It makes economical sense I guess.
    They're not back-lit after all.

    i like that they're dim. no distractions. i view brightly lit crap in my car as "light pollution"

    i use the little bumps on the buttons to find where everything is. :)

    Mine are definitely backlit. They are controlled by the light switch.

    If they were not, why would BT Tech In his post entitled "Any interest in adj illuminated s/w buttons??, New possible product"'make the following statement?

    "What I had in mind was to simply use the existing illumination control to vary the brightness of the switches on the S/W. The same way that it controls the dash lighting and the MFD."
