I am going to be changing the water pump soon. I just performed a coolant change.. Will I need to do another coolant drain if I am replacing the water pump?

Yep no good way to take the water pump off without draining the coolant first.
Thermostat is on the housing on the other side of the water pump. It takes a little more work to get to that but would probably be worthwhile to do both at the same time. It’s basically an afternoon project with basic hand tools only.
    Good luck!
