British make of backhoe - it's the generic term over here. Indeed, I suspect most British people wouldn't have the faintest idea what a "backhoe" was - they only know it as a JCB.

Actually, I'm just having breakfast and am off out for a quick Xmas shop, before going to work.

Wow, thanks! It explains something for me. While hunting for new avatars, I ran across a brief snippet of it---about 2 sec. when the car first morphs. Wondered what in heck it was. Now I know.

    How'd they DO dat?

Funny, I loved Citroens in the late 50's, when I was first becoming aware of cars. Blew my mind to see one raise and lower itself with its pneumatic suspension. And it was hands down the most comfortable car I've ever sat in. But their durability was always an albatross.

That commercial was done by an FX house in Vancouver - the entire commercial and all of the scenery is all CGI, recreating it all inside the 3D software. I think they did motion-capture to get the dance moves, then put it all together.

Oddly enough, because that model isn't sold here, it never aired in Canada.

Anyways, this video takes my vote for the coolest of the year (although it's actually a year or so old):

It's very possibly the best car review I've ever seen - I love my Prius, but I'd LOVE to drive one of these :)

[Top Gear sort of dumped on the Prius though - granted it's not really their market though, so you can't really expect them to understand]

I love the Ariel Atom!!! I'm going to be buying either an Atom or a Lotus Elise in three years. Haven't decided yet.

I owned a '72 Citroen DS Pallas. My first new car and the most comfortable car on the road then or since. It was one of the best cars I ever owned and I would have loved to buy another, but by that time Peugeot (sp?) had bought them and stopped importing them. Obviously afraid they would interfere with the stirling sales of Peugeots in the US. Alas. In the six years and (180,00 miles) I had it, it was never in the shop for more than a day, and never on a day I hadn't planned to have it there.
