It lifts up when you open the hatch? That balances things out some I think. Still, If I had my druthers, it'd be roller style for me. As mentioned above, there's maybe peripheral items that need to be swapped as well, not that easy.

Yes. There are cords to the hatch & to the body.

That's like the ones I had in my FORD and KIA - much easier than the pull out one in my PRIUS.

Even old Corolla liftbacks and Carinas (if you had those) had tonneau covers that lift up with the hatch.

In Canada, the Prius comes standard with a cargo net so those models with the lightweight fabric tonneau cover allow easier access to the boot when the cargo net is installed. If you had the roller type, you'd have to unroll it to access the boot or in my case, I leave the net uninstalled until I have to carry shopping or items that require the net.

Mine has been stored under the floor since week 2, it's so useless. With shopping etc, it's very difficult to manoeuvre. I'm thinking it will come out and get stored inside the house one day till the day before I sell it.

It actually comes with a cavity under the floor where it will fit perfectly - they obviously knew where it would spend it's time.

It has been improved with a plastic grip (lol). But yeah mine has seen wear from the constant extension and retraction of the cover. The spring works and everything but I usually keep mine extended.

I'd much rather have that set up instead of rolling the blind in and out.
