First time poster here (wonderful community btw).

Background we are heading on a road trip from San Francisco to Las Vegas and would like to perform this service as preventative. What would the be the cost and difficulty of replacing the ICE water pump and upper / lower hoses (good local shop rate) ? Iam fairly mechanical myself, but have never done the job on a prius before. I have sourced Aisan replacement pumps for about ~$260 online. Also, would it make sense to replace the thermostat at the same time?

    Thanks in advance!

    2010 prius 3 180k.

Why wait until 200k? What is the logic behind deferring the service? Thanks.
