Oh well, they still beat Ford, Cady, and Chrysler.

They've all had what, 50, 70+ years to get quality dialed in?
You want pure EV? You want infrastructure all the way across the Nation? It's good to be the only game in town.

Is CR differentiating between problems for that score, or still counting loose trim pieces the same as transmission problems?

even the gear box (transmission) was pretty much limited to loud/whining noise. Not a catastrophic condition - other than Tesla was slow to respond to the issue. Modernly - yea sameol'sameol' .... fit n finish. So if you have tons of cars with nickel-and-dimed things, and you go to the service center and have to wait 4 days for an appointment? Yeah - I can understand bitchie owners. Been there done that. Felt sorry for this guy behind me - in the 30 minute wait to get to the front, just to tell the SC what's wrong now ....

.... who was behind me, already having those kinds of issues & having to take a long time to get service.

Sorry, I'm not impressed. Not because Consumer Reports has gotten less bad but because they haven't figured out how to balance their readership opinions versus their 'professional' judgement. I remain ambivalent.

    Looks like a downward trend:

    2015: Consumer Reports' Highest-Rated Car-Ever | PriusChat
2017: Consumer Reports love-hate relationship on Tesla | PriusChat
    2018: Model 3 doesn't get CU recomendation | PriusChat
    2019: this thread topic

After waiting three years for that car pitched to me here that late April night (17:10 min):

that $35K model has now disappeared from their web build page,
lurking Tesla forums seeing what newer owners are really dealing with (early adopters tend to be lenient),
realizing any warranty repairs here in Texas are hours and hundreds of miles away if I need to take it in,
and finally learning that Tesla officially and actively discourages DIY work (was also considering used S examples).

Factoring in all that, I have, sad to say, become disillusioned. I'll sit on the sidelines and continue to watch. For now.

reading the cr article, wonky touch screen and cracking windshields, reminded me of prime complaints here.

Out here at the best coast happiest place on earth they save the price gouging for the park .

But Kettlemen City (the midway point between Nor Cal and So Cal along I-5) is not immune to similar behavior .

Now that our kids are a bit older, we are able to drive straight through and avoid it all(y).

    You mean tax perks expiring?

Tesla is loosing its credit (as is GM)

They sold a lot of cars last year due to pre credit expiration worries.
