I found with our new 2014 Pri that by pumping the stock tires up to 42 front, 40 rear, they quit "drifting" around as much and stayed much more planted in the lane with little steering wheel effort. Maybe just try going stiffer with your tire pressures...

True. Thank you. Love the car but at times, especially in higher winds, I feel unsafe. I apprecaite your response.

I have had different vehicles, before the Prius, a 2003 Hyundai Elantra GT, superb car which had over 325,000 miles on it. Did not experince the problem with lateral winds like I do this car. I also owner a BMW and Chevy. No issues.

Thanks. I have but not past recommend pressure. A friend did this on another car and his tire blew. I wonder if the 2014 Pri pressure rec. may be different. Mine calls for 33/35.

Check the writing on the side wall of your tires, it will say what the maximum pressure for that tire should be. My stock tires are ratted safe at a max pressure of 44 psi, for carrying a maximum load, so 42 front, 40 rear, cold tire pressures are below that 44 max recommended pressure.
