OK folks im starting thi smod, and i'll let you know how it goes.

purchased CC switch 84632-08021 from ebay with teh connecting wire for $64.99. it should be here any day.

this should be a 20 minute job tops anyone can do. I'm almost certain everything is pre-wired and all thats missing is the switch.

a how to do and photos coming soon.

well installed the switch and the steering wheel is pre-wired for the switch.

but no go as far as it working.

sent a email to the guy selling switches on ebay, im hoping for a wiring diagram that will show where I need to make the connection from the steering column to the ECM

Any word whether you've gotten it to work? I've made a couple of long distance road trips on my C 1, and now realize really need to get Cruise on this thing before I go cross-country this summer

I talked to a tech here at work, he said it should be pre-wired and may be missing a fuse.

There is no fuse listed as CC so ill take pictures from a #2 fuse panel and see if there is a difference.

im also going to check the wiring from the switch to the steering wheel and make sure I have the right one.

One has a ground, mine does not. I need to see what the #2 has installed.

if it was to be my best guess.. anything that's critically missing... is inside the ECU itself... i mean.. if you got the controls and all the wires are connected correctly to the ECU... and the ECU isn't responding...

then.. yea.. that's the only thing i can think of that's left.

old thread but if you didnt already get your CC working normally you have to scan it into service as in many cars the hardware is there but the computer has to be flashed to recognize it has CC.. this is so the computer doesnt fault at the lack of the switch being there...

I know this is old, but it is very good information. Outhouse, what ever came of this? The wife and I just bought a brand new Prius C1 after being told that cruise control can be added. Did you ever get it to work?

What's left? Software. I'd bet the computer simply does not look at the CC inputs on the PC1. I've worked as a software developer for many years (decades really) I've never worked on automotive firmware but have done a few things that fly. I bet the PC1 firmware lacks the CC logic

    its possible about the firmware

one of the techs here said they might be able to switch it on in the ECM from their side of things. But he was vague and had never attempted this.

    So still at a loss

Not sure if there is even a different part # for the ECM's from a 1 to a 4

O was told a fuse may be missing, but that was incorrect, all C's have the same exact fuses

Likely that the ECM boots up then looks to see what trim level the car has and then enables features based on trim level. This would allow Toyota to keep just one P/N. Also by checking the trim level the computer would not light up a service light for a failed component that is not present on that trim level.
