Just noticed this. No leak. OEM Toyo Proxes A20 with 42K. Good for another 8K before I replace them with Ecopias? uploadfromtaptalk1412462363142.jpg

What to call it? Weather Checking, Weather Cracking or Ozone Cracking. Time for new tires.

Your call, but since you asked...I'd start price shopping.

They might be okay for local travel, but I sure wouldn't go out on the new 85 mph highway there. Personally, I'd replace them, a possible accident simply isn't worth trying to squeeze another 8k miles out of them.

    I would replace them now.

The crack looks harmless, i doubt it travels anywhere near the depth of the belts. The tread height however is getting quite low. I'd swap them out if you drive on windey roads or wet season is approaching.

Another vote for time to replace. Worn tread has long stopping distances, and are dangerous for wet roads. Those 4 little contact patches of the tires are the only thing connecting you to the ground--- make sure they are good....

I will start shopping and ordering the Ecopias. No one stock them locally for some reason.

PS. W-rated LRR is, well silly.:)

I seldom run on the highway. My best guess is I ran over a broken beer bottle. See that a lot around here. Much more devastating to my 22mm road bike tires.
