    • Both the RAV-4 and Prius Hatchback are in 'stop sales' due to safety recalls
      • This may have boosted Ford Fusion sales

Decreases trend across the board but the LB? WOW! Is it gas prices or styling? Or both?

    Ugh on Prius LB.
Interesting that the PHEV sales do not seem spectacular considering October was the first month with extended Green HOV stickers in CA. Of course, my theory all year was that the "fix was in" on the Green stickers so I felt the PHEV sales already knew more stickers were coming. Herein I assume the lease industry maybe knew to continue buying up PHEV for CA.

This is one of the reason I feel annual sales show trends most accurately, then year over year, then month to month.
The year over year and annual sales eliminate seasonal adjustments and help smooth out supplier or stop sales if they are of a short duration.

Fusion, and C-max, sales can also be explained by incentives to balance F150 ones for CAFE. The truck should break 700k for the year in Nov.

I think it has been that way for some time now. The C-Max lost some appeal when Ford had to restate the fuel economy. The C-Max Energi actually sold more than the hybrid in Oct.

but that's a huge drop for cmax in one month. something else must be going on, like the gen 4 recall.

There is less offers for the Fusion on Ford's site than the C-Max.

C-Max sales have been dropping since its first year. It just hasn't done well, and will likely be dropped for a purpose built hybrid when it comes time for a redesign.

The drop in Tesla sales corresponds with recent articles describing Tesla profitability. Just a coincidence, no doubt.

Tesla often ships product overseas in the first month of a quarter.
This dip was a bit more than most, But it isn't all that out of the ordinary.

They will be upgrading a huge amount of production for the Model 3.
Model S/X production is probable not growing beyond the rate they have reached (about 100,000/year).

This does not make sense: Is the EPA holding your diesel hostage? - MarketWatch

Jeep and Ram stores have gasoline-powered 2017 Grand Cherokees and Ram 1500s in stock but no diesels, ...

FCA's online inventory trackers show several thousand unsold 2016 EcoDiesel Ram 1500s available nationwide, as well as hundreds of the less popular Grand Cherokee diesels.

In contrast, 5k Ram diesels were sold last month. If this article is accurate, we should see a dramatic fall off in the next couple of months.
