    Hello,
I'm still enjoying my 2012 pip but I came across a couple of issues that I'd like to share and consult with you.
The daytime running lights (DRL) were not working so I took it to Toyota to check it out. I also contacted the previous owner who thought that they working.
Toyota performed their 101 multi point inspection and discovered that the DRL was disabled at one point and they had to enabled it from the ecu. I found that interesting but they are now working and they look great.

Can't say about yours, but on the 2013 Model Three there is a setting in the user set up category where you can enabled or disable the DRL's.

    Default is ON (enabled).

Enjoy your Prius and welcome to Prius Chat!

That setting is on the 2012 Three also. But I also cannot speak for the PiP.

The 2012 PiP 3 trim has LED DRLs with a separate notch on the control stalk dedicated to turning it on or off.

I prefer keeping the lights off during the daytime to save the miniscule amount of energy. If I had incandescent DRLs, I would be even more inclined to disable them since they tend to burn out frequently and consume even more power

The 2013 Model Three has the same separate notch on the control stalk also.

I have a 2012 PIP Advanced with OEM navigation. Here is what you do:
Press "setup" to the lower right of the navigation screen
    Press "vehicle"
    Press "vehicle customization"
    Press "lights settings"
    Press "daytime running lights"
    Press "on"

Set your lighting stalk on the left of the steering wheel to "auto" Your DRLs will now come on automatically during the day when starting the car, and shutoff automatically when your headlights turn on in the evening.

That menu path sounds right, but I haven't looked at it for several years.

I don't know if all PiPs have the 'auto' position on the control stalk. But my Liftback certainly doesn't. Instead, it has a manual DRL position, just like Dorunron's later model. This particular stalk is not illustrated in my Owner's Manual.

You could be right, but the OP has a 2012 PIP Advanced just like mine, they are all the same. My instructions will work for him.

Actually, you don't even need to switch to 'auto', DRL will light when the lighting stalk is off and automatically turned off when switching to 'parking' (position lights) and/or to on. The parking brake should be released though.

    Thank you.
I love this car. Something about this car that's very relaxing. One focus on the ride quality, gas saving and taking the car pool lane :) instead of performance.
