Well, somebody had to say it

"We don't need no stinking badges."

One possiblity is to see if Bumper Plugs has something that could fill the holes. This would be an admittedly odd place to put them. Their product was originally for filling license plate mounting holes. Bumperplugs.com

Are the badges chrome? Paint them a silver or go for a brushed SS look and put them back on

It is sad to see that Toyota has gone backwards in outer panel rust through, glad that I'm no longer in the salt belt.

    Enjoy as Always!

i think the rust rate on aluminum is fairly low.

How about some of those bullet hole stickers. Now that would be cool.

I like the stealth look also. I know many people will disagree with this but you can use body filler and just fill the hole without going past the hole. Just sand the circle of body filler flat being careful to not sand the surrounding paint. Then buy a bottle of Toyota touch up paint and paint the filled hole. You won't notice unless you get up close. If you don't like it or when you go to sell the car you can always put the badges back on and your temporary stealth modification will be unknown.

Do you know if there are holes on the emblems on the sides. I would think those emblems would even affect fuel economy ever so slightly and I am surprised that Toyota did not use a light weight and flat decal instead.

Anyone a photoshop guru? We could do it digitally first and see what it will look like.

I think you should put these 3D decals over the holes. They are more than meets the eyes. :)

Available on ebay for under $10 each.

That would literally look terrible. It is VERY hard to touch up metallic paint, ESPECIALLY a pearl-coat paint like the blizzard pearl. Thats an extremely ghetto thing to do to a brand new car IMHO.

If you're going to make modifications...make them right IMHO.

Sorry for the late reply, I was away for the weekend. The only badges that I removed were the two on the hatch. I'd heard that on the Generation II that the side badges had pins so I didn't attempt to remove them.

When I said I was going for a stealth look I didn't mean stealth as in nobody knowing it was a Prius. What I should have probably said is that I was going for more of a "clean" look.

After having the badges off for the weekend I think that my glossy black for that small horizontal strip would look the best. It looks like the 4-5" high panel can be removed, it's just a matter of figuring out how to remove it so it can be put back on nicely when the holes are filled and the panel is painted.

I think I'll leave the side badges on unless someone else braver than I is willing to find out if they are pinless. Matching that Blizzard Pearl paint would probably be next to impossible.

Thanks for all the comments for and against the debadging. I've done it for all my cars so far and I've really liked the look.

I've read here on PriusChat that the side badges on some model years of the Gen II used 3M auto foam tape, while on other years they used pins.

Don't know what the 2010 side badges use.

I ended up removing the panel, filling the holes, and painting it glossy black. The pictures and details are in this thread.

I should have checked the post before trying, but I went ahead and pulled off the side badge to reveal the two holes!!! I just pushed the sticker back on and will probably purchase a new one to replace it. It doesn't look bad, but I fear that the seal isn't going to be the same. DOH!!!

Too bad. I found out about the emblem posts while installing side turn signals a couple weeks ago. Included in this thread in the Mods section:

To have a little fun with the Hybrid badge, I added a Supercharged badge just ahead of it so it reads Supercharged Hybrid. It is held on by a magnetic strip on the back. It was a big his at the dealer.
