Any lights(check engine, and check hybrid system) showing on the dashboard, or the MFD?
Any blower fan noise from the rear?
Does the engine (ICE) run more than usual?
Answering some of those questions, would give us an indication of what's going on?

I'm suspecting some ambiguity here, between 'consumption' and 'mpg' or 'km/liter'. The offered numbers look more like mpg figures, but I hope Ashraf can clarify before we say that decrease is good or bad.

What are those numbers? I'm thinking miles per (US) gallon?

Roughly for the last month your fuel economy has dropped, from 48~ to 41~. That's nearly 15% drop, quite significant. A few thoughts:

    1. Have you had the brakes serviced recently? They might have messed up, causing one or more wheels to drag. You could raise the rear of the vehicle in particular, verify the wheels rotate semi-freely with a good push.

    2. Have you had an oil change recently, presuming not Do-It-Yourself? Maybe the oil was changed with a heavier/thicker grade? Check with whoever's doing the service, what grade they used. I think in hotter countries they do tend to go up to 5W30 (North America is 0W20).

    3. Do you normally set tire pressures higher? Maybe they were lowered by a service department recently? Might just be a slow leak too: just check all the tire pressures.

    4. How long since you refilled the gas tank? Maybe you've got bad gas, the last fill up?

    5. Are you still on the original 12 volt battery? Have you ever left lights on when the car's parked, needed a jump start or recharge? Can you check the battery voltage, say with a digital volt meter, when the car is off and has sat overnight?

Just going by the thread subject; "decrease in consumption" meaning less engine oil is being burnt.

In most non-U.S. markets, where fuel economy is expressed in terms liters per 100km instead of US MPGs, I take that title wording as a decrease in fuel consumption.

Could also be something as simple as colder weather, change in driving style, traffic,... Did you just buy the car and are you comparing to the previous driver? Are you doing more stop and go driving? Are you making frequent short trips where the car is turned off and on repeatedly? Elevation changes? Are you doing more city driving than highway?

Also as everyone else pointed, if none of those are changing, then suspect some maintenance is required. Could be air filters clogged from dust, tire inflation, poor alignment (driving on potholes, bumpy roads, or dirt roads can do that), could be you need an oil change, it could be a lot of things so you have to be specific if you want more guidance.
