    Hello everyone,
I have a weird noise from my 2007 Prius. It seems to be coming from he front left of the car. The car drives well, Tracks, feels stable at all speeds. It's just making a crazy noise at almost all speeds, it starts around 10 mph. It's a very DEEP ggggrrrrrrrrrrr. When the car is shifted in N it continues. I thought it was a WB, but it’s not that noise. HELP PLEASE
    Thanks,
    John

Could be a wheel bearing CV joint or a tire? Hal

Get thee to a dealer ASAP. A failed joint or bearing can kill you.

Please post how many miles on car. I lost the driver front wb on my 07 at 35K miles. It made a pronounced woop woop noise at between 25 to 45 miles an hour.Very wheel specific.Thought it was the tires at first.

A low pitched grrr would concern me.Please check fluid level in trans asap and check for any fluid leak where inner shafts exit cvt. You may have a worn out inner cv shaft beating up the trans seal causing a leak which eventually would destroy the trans. Our trans are very very expensive.

i have 2 prius, you may have the same problem as I once did. I heard what sounded like a choo choo train sound from what I swore was the front left of the car. for $15 a brake shop cleaned out the brake dust from the rear drums and problem solved, every time, well at least for another 40K miles or so.

its always fun to hear how much 'meat' is left on my front pads and rear shoes and then I tell them its all the original brakes and watch their disbelief and awe.

    lessons learned:
    1. acoustics can do funny things to sound waves
    2. horrible sounds can have cheap simple solutions.

The car has 152,000+ Miles. The Tires are new and aligned (Bridgestone Ecopia)

The Dealership looked at the car and had it on the lift, they spun the wheels and said that it was not the WB. The Noise starts around 22mph, I double checked yesterday...

I tried to record it with my phone, but it came out bad...

I have not had the brakes cleaned... :-(, I will try that

Have you tried swapping the tires front to rear? That will eliminate tires if the sound doesn't change.

It got loud when I first put 2 new tires on the back and the backs on the front... I thought it would wear even and sort itself out... 1.5 months went by, so I bought 2 new tires and had it aligned... same noise, it's been another 2 months and I need to sort his out, going to see my friend at the dealership to see whats up today...

Did you put the back tires on the front on the second change? If so you have a rear alignment problem! This can be a problem as the rear suspension is not made for alignment! Hal
