    Dianne,
Plates arrived yesterday, and I sent out my application for the rebate right away. I figured it was a good idea to wait so I could include a copy of the permanent registration.
    Thanks again!:cheer2:

You can also mail them a copy of the window sticker in the car's front windshield. The temporary reg.

I cross-checked Dianne's order numbers with the spreadsheet - only two list a build date, and both are 2/28.

Well, the CVRP info says "proof of temporary or permanent vehicle registration." The window sticker is a "new vehicle dealer notice temporary IDENTIFICATION." And , it also says at the bottom, "Do not use as an application for registration or title."
To you and me, anytime we see a sticker like that in the window of a new car, it means somebody is waiting on the registration and plates to come through, and they are legally entitled to drive the car on public streets.
I just didn't want to give the bureaucrats any excuse to slow up or deny payment of the rebate. They may well have meant to include the temporary ID as acceptable proof, but since they didn't spell it out, yet went to great lengths to list what was acceptable to prove residency, I decided to err on the side of caution.

Amy at the place you're sending them to accepts this window document.
    I checked.
Many, many dealerships are not equipped to handle DMV matters like we have and 14 days would turn into 60 if that were the case.

I talked with Amy and Colin and Kyle (earlier) at the Center for Sustainable Energy at their event on Satuday in Irvine,CA, and all 3 said the temporary sticker on the window was fine for the CA rebate forms.

It is when you send in for the GREEN carpool sticker that you need the permanent license plate number.

Right, but DMV doesn't require proof like the CVRP folks are asking for in the form of hard copies.

Can't wait! With my PIP coming, I don't feel like going on my vacation in April. :D:D:D

The HOV sticker is handled by the DMV itself, so they can just pull up the records on their system to verify information. The CVRP is handled by an independent contractor who probably does not have access to the DMV database, and thus requires the paper documentation.

Took delivery from Dianne this morning. My fourth car from her. The process was over in 90 minutes and painless. Nathan took the time to set up the entune account and pair both my and my wife's phones.

First impressions: The PIP has a different feel than my 2004. Electronics are much more involved & I will spend the evening trying to figure stuff out. And this is on the standard model. Entune seems to be working and will play pandora via the screen or via the phone. Rhapsody works via the Bluetooth.

The map feature shows both traffic conditions (red green or yellow, similar to sigalert.com) and switches from 3d to 2d view on the push of buttons.

Both phones paired effortlessly, thanks to Nathan, and depending on who is driving/paired, shows that phone's contacts, etc. Nice feature, and a nice upgrade from my 2004 model.

I will need to play with the different modes. My first trip was up the 710 and above 65 mph, so there was little battery use. (I think battery reserves went from 9.9 to 9.2) The drive home in rush hour down the the OC should be more revealing.

Thanks again to Dianne and Nathan. Foto is Nathan and me (in grubbys)

    P. S. The Seal Glass Pearl really does change colors from green in overcast light to blue in bright sun.

    OK: cars here right now:
    226, 762, 46, 359, 346, 1617, 64, 107, 117.

    Cars here by this weekend:
    109, 235, 968, 499, 411, 1669, 234, 299, 156, 1014, 526.

    I know, I know... you're excited. I am too. :cheer2:

I am trying not to work Sunday the 18th because next week, I have twice as many PHEVs coming and need to pace myself. You guys do NOT want me to get cranky!! (Trust me on that, ask my son :D) ...

If your car # isn't here, please don't call me... email and I can get to your email asap. With gas at $4.40+ a gallon, I sell everything with a Toyota or Scion emblem on it and I am swamped with daily "everything" business. A good thing, but I have to prioritize!!

CA License Plates are coming as fast as we can get them.
Many of you know this, as you're getting your plate #'s in email from me personally before we mail the plates ... to speed the green sticker appplication process. If you are one of my clients & don't have the link for the $1,500 CA state rebate? eMail me and ask about it.

Thank you for your patience, and kindness all of you. Lots of fun so far, loads of new technology and it's wonderful to finally put a face to the emails and names!!

Is there a seperate California Rebate in addition to the $2500 tax rebate?

If there is, I check for it or push for it in NY.
