Try it with all 4 up, That should put you in CDC mode, and is what I settled with. Although others have reported differently, I could never get it to display text in MP3 mode (the one you are in).

    If that doesn't work, try SAT mode (1 & 2 down, 3 & 4 up).

Lucky you. Well, from what I've read I'm going to have to take appart the glove box and dig into the dash to re-set the thing if I want it to work again. That is more trouble than it's worth for me--particularly if this is a regular occurrence. If the unit was more accessible I might feel differently. With other finicky devices like, say the Palm Pilot, there is a hard reset button. That is what this thing needs.

Someone wrote that the Dice unit doesn't play nicely with Sirius. I think I can confirm that it doesn't play nicely with XM either--maybe that's why it froze on me?

One thing that really bugs me is that it always defaults to the same song in my iPod. Of the 10,000 songs in my 60 GBs worth of music, it had to pick a rap song by 2 Pac with explicit lyrics--not the sort of thing you want blasting out of your speakers unpredictably.

You are flipping the DIP switches when it is UNPLUGGED and the car is fully off, correct? When you flip the DIP's it's very unlikely that it will take effect until the unit is first unplugged from the harness and then plugged back in. And you're going to keep it in CD mode, so all 4 should be up.

It's plays fine with both the Sirius and XM units. Just as long as you don't have the dice in SAT mode. Then the car gets confused because it sees 2 sat systems.

PM me with your contact info and where you bought it from, and I'll pass it along.

It seems to play in order of artist name. This may be the way Apple stores music on the iPod. Your system plays 2 Pac, mine played a horrible little ditty by 7 Ds until I zapped the artist. Maybe you could go through iTunes and change the artist name to Two Pac to push him down in the play list. :p

By the way, I have exactly the same situation now. This is my second replacement unit, but the first with the new programming. I can't get text in any mode, no matter what I do. The prior replacement does at least give me the text sometimes, inconsistently.

Your entire display looks different from mine. When I tried mine in MP3 mode, I still got all of the menus (al 6 discs), just no text when clicking on the "title" button.

My guess is either it is not connected to the stereo correctly or that you have a defective unit. Plese don't be insulted, but could it be that you plugged in the wrong part, or the plug is partially out?

    Otherwise I'm out if ideas.

I'd ask you to find out your firmware number, but you can't do that without the other disc options as well.

Do you need to see a photo of what it should look like?

    3.1.1???

Mine is 1.2.1, and it is very recent.

Below are some shots of the DICE unit in operation. The first one is what it looks like when I first click on the Audio button. The second shows what the screen looks like when I click on the "Tittle" button. The final shot shows where I now tuck in my little DICE unit so I can get to it quickly if it acts up.

    Does this help some?

Conine - I have a 2007 Prius (Touring Package 3 - yes bluetooth, no nav).

Short version: No text or anything in the middle of the screen. Meaning no CD 1 through 6 and no song titles or anything. My settings are UP-down-UP-UP.

Up on the top row it shows CD Change 2 then blank spot (for CD #?) then it shows the track number.

I can't get the plug in the back of the radio to snap in.

I wraped a little bit of masking tape around the end of the plug, and that made the fit nice and snug. One layer of tape will probably do.
