Does it keep popping out? Mine was a little difficult too. My solution was to put a piece of masking tape on it (it needed to wrap around 3 sides) to hold it firmly in place. To much tape can brake the thing, so start with alittle, ad work your way up slowly.

    Hope this helps.

btw: I'm in Valley Village if you need local help.

You have to press REALLY hard. It's alot easier to just pop the radio out first.

I tried for a couple of hours to get it inserted. I kept waiting to feel it snap inside. One problem that I had was that I couldn't move the bundle of wires because after removing the phillips screw, it was fastened at the bottom and I couldn't figure out how to disconnect.

Using a mirror, it looked like it should go in, but it didn't feel like it was. Are you saying that the bottom tab doesn't lock in?

A heads up to all who have owned the DICE unit for a while...

having problems with my DICE, I got a replacement...the volume on the new unit is much lower than the original...with the window down, I can not hear the music clearly...I even had DICE send me another unit...the same result...

The original was low in volume to begin with...so this makes it even worse...

Make sure you have the EQ settings in the iPod set to OFF.

New at this too.... Let's say you use the pass through plug. So you have the satellite radio AND iPod running throught the same input. How do you toggle from satellite to iPod. Furthermore, let's say you purchase the HD unit and corresponding iPod cable, how do you toggle between all three?

The SAT is operated with the AM button. The DICE kit for both iPod and HD is through the CD button. Just tap it and it comes alive.

I haven't checked yet, but does the CD player still work with the DICE unit connected?

Yep. Using the CD button, one can toggle between the CD and the DICE unit. To your car, the Dice unit acts like an additional 6 disc CD changer.

I came in here to say this.

Anywho, I got my iPhone and everything works - you currently can't control the audio from the phone itself but we're working on that. You can use the iPhone just fine otherwise.

Isn't that the way it is with iPods too? Does this mean we will be able to control volume of iPods (including the iPhone) using future versions of the DICE unit?

Just got my iPhone today, and noticed this. I've gotten used to navigating via my iPod's screen rather than trying to select things on the Prius' screen. With the iPhone, once it's connected, you just get a message like "Accessory connected" and don't have access to any of the iPod controls. I suppose I can set up some playlists and learn to navigate via the MFD, but playlists don't work well for trying to select podcasts to listen to.

Hopefully DICE will be able to come up with a fix for this. I may just wait until I hear an update and upgrade to the HD DICE at the same time.

Heh, more like Apple fixed the exploit we used. We'll see - it may take some time.

No, not with the DICE kit. An iPod remains fully unlocked all the time. The iPhone is a different story, but time will tell if it's possible to remain unlocked. It would be considerably more dangerous to operate an iPhone vs. a iPod while driving since you have no tactile feedback. You would have to keep your eyes on the iPhone to do anything and not on the more important road.

I'm not sure what you mean about volume. The iPod has no volume in a data connection.

I am having trouble connecting the cables to the back of the stereo. The insturctions are simple enought, but after removing the glove box, the air vent and bolt over the white box of wires I could not for the life of me get my hands behind the stereo to remove the XM plug and put the Dice pug in...I am ready to find a local shop to help me out.

Here is another view of the radio. Maybe it will help.

The XM cable in this pic will be your DAIS cable. Just make sure you have the clip pointed down.

Hmmm...am I removing a wire where XM is currently plugged? Or am I simply plugging into the back of the radio...I wish it were easy to just remove the whole unit.

Have you read my posted instructions on how to remove the whole radio? It isn't hard.

If you have XM you have to unplug the connector, then plug it into the DICE supplied harness. If you don't have XM, just plug the DICE harness directly into the radio.

I'll look for it...can you clarify the dip switch position I should have on my DICE unit. 07 Prius with Nav, and XM...all four switches are currently in the up position.
