I disagree. I had the James Mobile for years. An old '69 Chevelle that I was always tinkering with. You know a restoration project. Our Sienna is the Van. The Prius is looking for a name. It is an '12 Ocean-Pear four. Any suggestions?

I call mine the Voyager , after the spacecraft that was launched 34 years ago and is still trucking out into space and may be the first spacecraft to actually leave our solar system. It is still new to me ( around 3 weeks or so) and it feels like a small spaceship when I get in and all the displays light up. I just have to watch the gas mileage indicators and graphs and avoid going into warp speed:eek:.

Heh heh, I thought of starting this thread. My Prius is named Stella. Stellaship, is her nickname.

I've named all my cars except one that I pretty much referred to as POS. My first car was "Pickle", 1985 Honda Civic hatchback in gray with rust than any other color! Then "Baby" my 95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. I sold her to buy my 2002 Oldsmobile Alero dubbed "Ruby". My husband has worked on Saturns since 1997 and we've owned darn near 30 of them. But most of them were flips. The ones we did keep for a short while were Ivy, Sylvia, Scarlett, Charlotte and Pearl. Since my late teen years, all my girls have had classy names.

My Dodge Ram 2500 with a Cummins Turbo Diesel is "Noche." Spanish for "night", she's jet black and came from Mexico.

Every vehicle since "Baby" the color directly relates to the name. Baby was black, so that's where it all started! ;)

My first car after college (a Beetle) was Edgar. That was a very long time ago. Haven't really been naming them since then. Now, my wife dubbed the new Blizzard Pearl car "the marshmallow." I like it.

LOL about the spaceship feel. One of the reasons besides the mpg ratings that I fell for the Prius after taking my first test drive. I am just a week shy behind you with what I am calling her, The Grey Ghost.

Came up with that name after reading threads here about the Blizzard Brigade and Black Knight Prii on priuschat. To me it is fitting on how quietly she runs.

BTW, love the send off to Voyager. One amazing spacecraft. And in a short time with my new ride I can see how fitting the naming of your car is. May we live long and prosper in our Prii.

    希望 = Hope ?

This is the first bright Red car we've had, so I think it has become Red October. It's the wife's car. We'll see if that name hangs on. Otherwise it's the Pious.:)

I've only had my new 2013 Prius for 3 days, so maybe I should wait a while before naming. But what occurs to me is Velvet (after the song Blue Velvet). She is Midnight Blue color.

Back in late 2007, finding exactly the #6, Barcelona red, Touring
model we wanted involved a nationwide Internweb search. (The dealers in
the Southeast zone, the East Coast states including and south of Maryland,
had chosen not to stock the touring model due fears of low sales volume.)
Ultimately I found her some 400 miles away in Rhode Island.

While I was working out the details on the phone/Interweb with the dealer,
in a moment of non-linear thought, I remembered the opening words to a
Swing-Era song that I always liked: "A boy found a dream upon a distant
shore, a maid..." So the car was a girl. Her name, like the song's, is Amapola,
    Spanish for "poppy."

    Here's the song:
    http://www.pcdon.com/-JimmyDorsey_Amapola.wav

In the second half of the song Jeanette MacDonald sings, and she captures
the life, and excitement, and energy that Amapola provides every time we
drive her... even still, now 5-1/2 years and 76+K miles later.

    Here she is:

W name all of our fleet vehicles. I've gone through "Squeaky", "Rattle", "Dusty" and now I'm on Goofy. My CFO actually named it when I drove it home to show it off. I was actually pretty exited to get a nearly brand new vehicle, Prius or not, since my usta-car (Cavalier) was getting pretty close to Lunar Mileage.

Had I known that G3s were so rattle (or squeak) prone a few cars back then one of my usta-cars would have had to get a different name. ;)

Since I had the first of the G3's....Goofy (p. Goofys) is getting to be a ubiquitous name for our Priuses.
It's been a pretty good car.
I've only had to call for one rescue mission in the first 50,000 miles.

Named my Prius the Wee Machine. Interesting that another poster also has a Wee Machine. If Fred Flintstone had a name for his car, I would consider using that one as well. Yabba Dabba Doo!
