What the heck is "indoor plumbing??" I thought everybody just went behind a tree or a snowbank?

Well, if they're *really* drop-dead gorgeous - probably not. I've had that surprise a few times now.

But most of the women who get very curious about my Prius - and about me - are just skanky enough that I know they're the genuine article.

Tony: I hope you never show your Better Half these posts. She might give you the boot.

one thing that is somewhat related, i do know now that i mention i drive a Prius, people actually know what im talking about.

when i first got my car i actually had a few people think that it was the newest model of the Corolla!! i was never so insulted in my life. well then again, at least they didnt think it was a focus.

That's a pretty cool thing to happen.

    There's only one problem....

Prius RARELY needs to BE at a gas station!!!!!

People used to think my Supra was a Ford Probe. :pukeright:

Now, men come up to me and ask, "HEY...is that a new Focus?" Which begs a couple of questions:

    a) how could someone see a Prius and think is was a Ford?
    B) why would someone get excited to see a Focus?

For the most part, since I live in a rural area of the south people just scratch their heads at gas stations and say, "That car is wild!"

Glad you took in the light-hearted international humor in which I meant it, Jay.

And about my better half, to her it's all nerd humor. I try to explain it but she tunes it out. It's better for both of us that way. :)

nannyandnutro: love the Zoidberg avatar! Also, a question you failed to ask: can't they see the TOYOTA symbol on the front AND back of the car? But in the future, if any asks if it's a Ford, be sure to reply, "nope! 5 years in production and not a single recall!" (Don't bother explaining about Japanese release prior to NA introduction.)

You need to get Paul's decals..

Here's a letter from Paul about the decals that he wrote a while back..

You might want to look at the pictures I posted at PriusChat in the
Appearance Modifications Photo Album (see links below) of some lettering I did on the side and back of my Seaside Pearl. I am a signmaker in
Columbia, MD and will sell a set of those (in white, grey or black) for
$15 the set, postage included. The set is one for each side and a line for
under the license plate on the back. If you are interested, contact me at
[email protected].... Put Stickers in the subject line.

You can see pictures of my Seaside Pearl with some custom lettering I made over at PriusChat in the Appearance Modifications Album:

    http://www.priuschat.com/forums/album_pic....c.php?pic_id=42
    http://www.priuschat.com/forums/album_pic....c.php?pic_id=41

I make this offer to any and all interested. I will include detailed
    instructions for installation.

I have offered the decals in white, black and grey and have sets already
    made up in those colors.

Personally, I think the white works best on all the colors except the
white, of course. That's because the lower portion of the car is usually
darker anyway, so the white stands out a bit more. On the lighter colors,
it is more subtle. However, a grey would work nicely on a white (instead
of black) and it would work nicely on most of the colors too. I have sent
gray ones to owners of Millenium Silver and Tideland Pearl cars.

The vinyl will come off easily if you remove it right away. Once you apply
the letters, they will come off, but they will be destroyed and not able
to be used again. If you need to remove them months or years down the
line, you can. Just lift a corner of each letter with a single-edge razor
or sharp knife and pull the letters away from the car. There may be a glue
residue remaining, but the Home Depot sells an adhesive remover that works well and doesn't damage the paint on the car.

I will send a set out when you give me your USPS address and indicate that you want them. Also, it helps if you tell me what color you want or what color your car is.

I don't take PayPal or credit cards, unfortunately. I don't need to have
the check here or to have cashed it. After all, you own a Prius! You have
to be an honest person, with integrity!

Anyway, if you are interested, you can send me a check for $15 to:

When I first got mine I told a lady that I had known for several years that I bought a Toyota Prius, to which she said "Ooh, I like those. Did you get the 4 wheel drive?" I'm really scared to think what kind of truck she got "Prius" confused with, and I was rather insulted too!!

If I said anything remotely derogatory about Fords here it would probaby be the end of me! I agree with the other people of the female persuasion on these boards-the Prius attracts middle aged men far too often. Oh, they want to ask about the gas mileage and where to plug the car in, or if it's a Honda, etc. and I just want to get groceries and get on with life. I do enjoy the people who are genuinely interested in the CAR and not the gender of who's driving it.

Actually, back when '04 Prii were very, very rare in Seattle, I would often mistake a Focus hatchback for a Prius. THere wasn't much to compare against.

Now, I couldn't ever do that. But there is a learning curve for "Prius-watching".

But I'll be the first to say that an attractive woman, say 23ish, is a Prius IS pretty hot. I'm thinking of the movie Canonball Run with two women in a Lamborghini: pretty hot.
