I rented a 2011 Prius several weeks. Now I have been considering purchasing used,
if I can find a decent deal. I'm looking at 2010 and 2011 models.

There seems to be two versions of navigation; either with 6 1/2" and 7" screens. What other differences do the two have, other than screen size?

Is there an easy way to tell which version a car has?

Some one else will have to back me up, but I don't think the 7" screen model was offered on any 2010 or 2011, I think that began as a premium system on the 2012's.

Correct, there were no changes to the Nav system between 2010 and 2011 that I am aware of. The Entune system began with the 2012's.
