Disable open hatch warning beep?

Given that this was initially posted on Thursday and you only had an hour remaining at the time, I'm going to assume you've made it there already.

For anyone else with this question looking for an answer, there's a pretty easy way to bypass this while transporting something requiring the hatch/trunk door to be open. Using a pen or something similar, you can engage the locking mechanism on the bottom which makes it appear that the door is closed. Properly secure your load and the door and you can drive without an beeping or lights. Just be sure to disengage the mechanism by pressing the door open button on the rear door before closing the door.
