Thanks efusco and tideland---works as advertised on my 2008, pkg.2. (did have to momentarily release brake pedal to make step 6 work).

So glad to see that this works on '09. I have one on order and my sales person insists that there is no way to disable the beep. Overall my sales person is pretty informative about the Prius, but I'm learning things on this site that I can teach him about the car. :)
    Thanks everyone.

Do you think the same thing would work with the door adjar warning.i.e. instead of buckling and unbuckling the seat belt you open and close the door?

Man you took my question =]

I can add another confirm disable to the reverse beep and both side seat belts. Now on to the door....

Thought I would try it with my 2010 just to see if it might work.but no Joy.
The owners manual says it must be done by Toyota technicians with speciallized equipment. Like the service manual.

Just found this thread. Can't wait to get home and try it on our 2005. We have a long driveway and the damn beep drives both of us nuts!

:confused:I have same problem as fwellers:
"I tried this twice on an 08 I just bought last night. It didn't work for me. Both times, after I release the trip/odo button (step6), the dash indicator just goes to TripA.
Does this not work for 08's ? Any suggestions ?"
    Can't find the trick? I have 07.

Did mine last night after reading this post. It worked on the first try. Great instructions.............and it's very nice to be without that annoying beep while backing and parking etc. Thanks.
