The resistor would lower the volume of everything, but there is a configuration option to adjust the volume of the door lock/unlock sound. This could be increased to try to make up for the resistor.

Clearly I fail at describing a sound using only words. It's a falling tone that is triggered when I hit the car is shut off. I cannot find a YouTube video of it unfortunately. I may try recording and uploading it at some point.

EDIT - Listening to this again, it seems to come from the mid/back of the car, so I don't think it's generated by the speaker. Perhaps it has something to do with the parking brake and is not really part of this discussion.

 

Fortunately the anti-collision system will get your attention.
