Use of AI in science communication is increasing rapidly. It has become common for Journals to require authors to say if they use it and for what and how much. It has become common for Journals to ask reviewers if they use it, along same parameters.

Journals themselves have used AI for longer to detect plagarism in the form of unattributed quotations. People in 'the biz' are taught from the outset that it is bad form. Ton Lehrer lyrics notwithstanding.

In my view, if there is a human hand on the tiller, things won't go terribly wrong. If not, they certainly can and already have.

I appreciate the attention being paid to potential global health risks associated with vaccines reported recently in PriusChat. I appreciate the attention being paid to potential global health risks associated with environmental toxins by new HHS Secretary Kennedy.

It logically follows that attention would be paid to global health risks associated with PM2.5 aerosols. Associated with 4.2 to 6.5 million excess annual global deaths:

PM2.5 aerosols are produced by fossil-fuel and wood combustion.

Desert dust, is also a non-trivial source of PM2.5.
They can also be harmful to annual NOAA hurricane predictions, although June and July are usually very quiet months for autumnal storms.

Model fans take heart....we could STILL have the super destructive storm season that supports the cut/copy/paste "predictions" we see every May.... ;)
