    Hi
A new 2nd gen prius owner of 4 weeks got his cat stolen. Shop fixed it and the next day car stops while driving and shows triangle and won't go into ready mode.

His post has pictures but what I have never seen is the attached picture here where his gas gauge and odometer are blank. Any ideas. He doesn't have techstream or able to get it to AutoZone for codes.

1st check the 12v battery, lots of weird things happen when this is low. You could try jumpstarting it or put in a good battery in parallel. Time to decide if you need a new one if it's really old and is low.

Yep, my first thought was that 12-volt battery....can cause ALL SORTS of codes and strange behavior when it's needing replacement.

While a bad 12V battery can cause all sorts of grief, I wouldn't expect that to cause the car to stall or shut down when it was already running (ie, in ready mode).

First thought would be to check the fuses in the underhood fuseblock- esp the 15Amp EFI fuse. Problem might be related to the cat theft / repair.

The speedo and fuel gauge likely don't display because something is wrong with one of the ecu's in the car or with a data network.

Without a (prius) capable scantool, full wiring diagrams, and some electrical know-how, about all one can do is check fuses and look for possible rodent damage to wiring.
