I installed the side mirrors this afternoon. It took me about 1.5hrs to figure out one side and 20mins to do the other side. I'll wire the mirrors sometime this week to finish this up!

Question on the puddle light install. Why tap the blue wire on the A pillar for ground and not just ground it with the light housing ground?

It's a ground negative trigger. If you connect your ground wire from the puddle lights to chasis ground, your light will turn on all the time.

Is there a shop or individual who installs the JDM style side mirrors combo light in northern California ? I will be more than willing to have the mirrors installed on my 2010 Prius 5.

Boy, this is the longest thread I've ever read... but worth it!
Does anyone know if the mirrors from MITaccessories (for 2010-2012) on ebay fit a 2013 Prius? Is there any local (California) dealers that have them?
Much thanks to everyone in this thread.

:)Completed the JDM LED mirror install today. Just a few observations.

Mitaccessories1 - the eBay seller most everyone here is getting their LED mirrors from is EXCELLENT. Great price, very professional. I received my mirrors in six days from Taiwan by playing an extra $10 for express shipping for a total shipping charge of $30. Total for the kit and shipping was less than $170 total. Kit quality is very good. Winter Gray Metallic paint color was a perfect match. No flaws in painting. My best eBay transaction as a member (1000+) since 1999. Anyone on the fence regarding this seller or kit quality can rest assured, both are excellent in my opinion.

Installation - Thanks to everyone who's contributed to this post on installation information and tips. A lot of information to absorb, and sometimes confusing. Read and reread before installing. Make sure you understand which of the three locations you will make the five connections and which wires go where. Best to keep your laptop handy and reference often as you do the install. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO FIND THE "BLUE WIRE" UNDER THE DASH. I did and wasted at least two hours install time. Tapping the blue wire under the "A" pillar cover is very simple, easy, and a ten minute job. Overall, very satisfying DIY mod for those with some experience. One of the most cost efficient mods I've ever done.

Two tips from me. I also ordered the amber LED arrows that go behind the glass mirror. Since you have to remove the mirror for the conversion, it's fairly simple, completes the look for me at an additional cost of $13. LINK Some are going with the replacement blue mirrors (glass only) with the LED signal in the glass. Cost is $50 for two. LINK

When removing the door panels, at least half of the clips remained in the door, as well as the lower kick panels on the left & right sides. Not sure if anyone has tried this but it works. Screw a wood screw (sharp, pointed tip) in the middle a few threads and pull out with a pair of pliers. They will remove damage free and reusable.

I took my time, everything works, nothing damaged. A fun, but sometimes frustrating, definitely challenging mod. Love the look.
