    technically you can,

i just helped a fellow member install his mirrors today (ones from MIT on ebay) , for those who wants to tackle it yourself here is a quick reference you can refer to:
    Tools Used:
    10mm socket & extensions
    Philips screw driver
    plastic panel tool
    door trim panel remover
    electrical tape
    solder iron
    wire splicer
    wire crimper
    wire cutter
    digital muti meter

remove mirror cover & door panel to take mirror out:

Remove kick panel & Route LED wire to inside the care ( blue, red black ) to driverside kick panel ( black & white ) up towards map light
    [IMG]
Remove cover w/ philips screw driver (2012-2015) or 10mm bolt (2010-2011)
i found a good ground bolt on top of the right of wire junction box ( i used a spade connect to help secure the wire to the bolt )
remove factory insulation from 36 pin harness
    [IMG]
Be sure to test wire with mutimeter before taping any wire ( i personally don't like in line taps or "T-Taps" i try to avoid to use them as much as possible)
connect blue wire ( park light signal ) to pin 18 of wire on the 36 pin harness aka park light positive brown wire (picture taken before solder, don't forget to solder wire for a secure connections)
connect red wire ( Left turn signal ) to pin 17 of wire on the 36 pin harness aka left turn signal positive yellow wire (picture taken before solder, don't forget to solder wire for a secure connections)
connect other red wire ( Right turn signal ) to pin 4 of wire on the 36 pin harness aka right turn signal positive green wire (picture taken before solder, don't forget to solder wire for a secure connections)
make sure to insulate all wires after connecting
    [IMG]
remove map light ( i was also told that dome light wire can also be found on the A-piller) run blk/white wire up towards maplight (WARNING PLEASE PROPERLY REMOVE A-PILLAR, WIRE SHOULD NOT INTERFERE WITH SIDE AIRBAG WHEN IT DEPLOYS )
remove harness , tap red wire to white & blue wire to black
    [IMG]

insulate all expose wiring and re-install everything. & you are done

Connecting the RED/BLK wires on the LED signal arrow (behind the mirror glass) to the RED/BLK wires on the JDM LED mirror lenses worked. Install now complete (except for puddle/welcome lights) and whew, it was quite a project! I was unable to remove the A pillar well enough to access the blue wire due to a metal clip holding it in place. I got it to separate from the frame but not enough to get in there with my fingers/tools. I will likely try to run the BLK/WHT wires up to the map lights. To anyone considering this, I highly recommend cross-referencing the instructions for JDM folding mirror installation for additional information on how to run the wires into the car and where connections can be made. Thanks to everyone for all the great notes here. This is a pretty satisfying mod!

Can someone help troubleshoot? I just took a night drive and the mirrors work as they should. However, when I turn the headlights on, the lights behind the buttons on the flying console don't illuminate. Also, the image of the Prius/battery/engines disappears from the upper dash. Did I forget to put a plug back together?? The headlights are ON in this picture.

U may have cut the dimmer all the way down... left side of steering wheel. I think I had did that as well or maybe it does that by default when installing

You're right. A little wiggle of the dimmer and we're back in business!

I completely glazed over that step. Thanks. I'll give it a try when I get back to the install.

Hi Guys. First, Thank for the write up. Second, I need help with the blue wire at A Pillar cover. I connect the black wire to the blue wire, the white wire to + constant 12V. the light does not lit up. When I connect the black to ground, the white wire to 12V. The light does lit up. What did I do wrong?

you can also grab the blue wire if you remove your map lights. the blue wire is negative triggering so basically only when you dome lights come on it will come on, did you check the continuity of you connection? what did you use for the connection ?

I'm struggling with the puddle lights. Any advice on how to run the wires from the a-pillar, over to the map lights, under the headliner? I tried fishing it over with a wire hanger but no dice. I could just push the wire under the lip of the headliner where it meets the windshield, but that seems like shoddy workmanship to me.

Remove the sun visor & the clip. Once this is done, the headliner will brow slightly allowing u to tuck the wire.
