I have an OBD-2/USB interface that I've used on other cars. I've downloaded Techstream. Will my current OBD-2 interface work with it, or do I need to get the Mini VCI plug on Ebay/Amazon?

    Thanks in advance.

Is your OBD-2 J2534 compliance? If yours is a ELM327 compatible device, then it will not work.

Techstream only support J2534 Pass-Thru device.

As Vincent said, Techstream wants a device that is compatible with the SAE J2534 standard. Mini VCI is what most around here are using. Other options exist - Tactrix Openport, Drew Technologies Mongoose (which is what Techstream is officially tested with) - but those tend to cost more. Whatever device you have, what really matters is not so much the hardware inside the box, as whether it came with a software driver that is a Windows DLL implementing the J2534 interface. If it did, Techstream ought to work.

I guess I inadvertently double posted this. I hadn't seen the responses in this thread.

    Thanks for the info.

I have more research to do.
