I get really crappy reception. Sometimes it just doesn't work at all. I have Sirius on other cars and I was able to get reception on them. Sometimes if I'm stopped I just re-boot the car and sometimes I get signal so I don't think its all an antenna issue. Does this happen to anyone else?

I do have a few dead areas, but attribute it to Sirius/XM's reduction in terrestrial antennae in an apparent budget reducing measure.
Friends with GM cars experience the same 'dead zones', so I don't think it's the antenna or receiver in the car.

The only XM reception problem I have is if I am traveling east with tall trees on my right or south side, blocking the satellites.

We had it for a year. In the whole it was not bad, but the drop-outs got to be really annoying, it was a factor in not renewing.

It's my understanding that in some areas the breaks in line-of-sight are not as disruptive, there is hardware they can deploy that at least partially fixes that. Didn't happen much for us though.
