Does anyone know the Prius prime spark plug type?

    I believe it is a Denso spark plug but I don’t have the number. Does anybody know what part number it is by chance?

    My Prius is showing some signs of hesitation or sluggishness. I have about 50,000 miles on my 2017 Prius prime.

    That's what I said!
    My wife's was purchased on 4/15/17 and just broke 6300. And that's only b/c I used it to commute to work a few times.

    I drive Alot. A whole lot. It’s been a good car. But with the weather hot and a/c on. For some odd reason the car has been a lot more sluggish when in sport mode if you will. And when at higher speeds. It just started a week or 2 ago.

    I give it premium most the time So i doubt if it’s the gas.

    How many engine miles...vs. electric miles?

    I'd think the sluggishness would be something else. Water in the gas? Very old gas or a bad tank full from a station with tankage problems? Try a good fuel system cleaner. Seafoam is one of many; follow the label instructions.

    I have used seafoam in other old cars and it does great stuff. I fill up with arco mostly. It is possibly bad gas. Will try a different brand. Tends to happen when it is hot 90f and up and I use a/c. And Also when I put it in power mode.

    I have a 240volt charger so I use at least 35+ miles electric daily. I average 40k miles a year.

    Hesitation might be bad gas, fuel filter. Maybe just run through most of the tank, fill up (at different station?) and see what that does. If no improvement, try a fuel injector cleaner with the next tank. If no improvement, then try throttle body needing cleaning, Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAF) sensor cleaning.

    Checked the air filter?

    If it just started a week or two ago it's too early to rule out bad gas.

    Premium doesn't do anything but lighten your wallet, and it's not immune from contamination.

    "Premium" isn't premium. It merely has a higher anti-knock index which is not needed for our cars. It is no better than regular at the same station.

    Try regular gas from a different station. Give it some time to work through the system. If you picked up some water from a station, it may lay in the gasoline filter. Water removal additives can get that out of there; otherwise a new fuel filter might be needed.
