So my 2010 prius engine is going out and I seen a 2015 engine on sale for 275 so I grabbed it real quick. So I got the engine and they both look different.. the thermostat housing has 4 outlet on the new engine and my old only has 3... and many other difference... I'm worried I messed up

They should both be the same engine. You probably picked up a 2005 engine?

Yea thought the same thing but the gen 2 used a belt driven waterpump and the waterpump on the new engine is just like the eletric waterpump on my old engine

it has to be the right engine then, if it's an electric engine cooling pump.

Perhaps the OP can plug the VIN on the engine into a website and see what vehicle it came from?

To me it also screams "buyer beware" or if it is too good to be true, it probably is :(.

I was afraid of that. Contact some local junk yards perhaps your 2015 C engine and a little cash can get you a 2012 or 2013 Prius 1.8l engine.

That's gotta suck. Yep, your best bet is a scrap yard. Just produce the receipts for them. That price is still really good for a engine.
