Does new Prius have direct wifi connection ?

    Same as Google Maps and Apple Maps.

    I don't know about Androids (but I'm sure there's a setting in there somewhere) but for the iPhone, under Privacy --> Location Services --> System Services, there's a setting to turning off "Routing & Traffic" under "Product Improvement".

    it still would be cheaper to have a hotspot plan on your phone than have a car hotspot.

    in-car wifi is the dumbest thing in the world.
