Hollywood already does a good enough job of that.... started with "all in the family" ... whick I loved, but sitcoms took that and ran with it and now depicts men as stupid, inconsiderate, senile, beer drinking adolescents that never grew up, horny, testosterone driven airheads that cannot accept responsibility or have careing feeling moments unless they are gay..... and speaking of gay... thats a whole nother subject about degrading men.........

Only if you keep beating yourself over the head with the rolled up magazine or the videotape.

I want to clarify, and meant no personal offense.

What I was bitterly decrying in the "losers" section was a CULTURE that perforce CREATES feelings in people that they are not as "valuable" as people who "have what it takes" or are "cool". I do not recognize, in this case, the objective existence of such "poor slobs".

In my above tete-a-tete with windstrings, I asked the question: what's the difference between a "porn addict" and someone who enjoys repeatedly watching porn? (I could have even gone a step farther with that and asked what's wrong with porn addicts, since it's a victimless crime, but that's another thread!) I recognize, in other words, that for many, it is a "legitimate" adult form of private entertainment.

But my rant argues at the same time that it is NOT victimless in the broader sense, to the extent that the mentality behind it pushes it into becoming as much a "public" phenomenon as it is a private entertainment.

Yes, there are plenty of slots for non-losers. Just not my cup of tea.

A man could mutilate himself. Those edges can be sharp.

Good point... A man could do that and call it a victimless crime too...

Crimes against Self cause the same anger and frustration as if inflicted from someone else, the same lashing out at others and society happens regarless of the source... from self or from others..

Thats one reason the alcoholic lashs out at others.... most addictions have the same effect....

I hope you are not implying I think there is anything wrong with masturbation. If this is the best you got....'nuff said.
