    Yeah.
    Right....

    My bet: No.

    (*) However, it's only a cup of coffee bet. Diner coffee......not the crap that they have to put whipped creme on!
    There are some honest dealers out there, and there are even some that go beyond honesty, and try to deliver good service.

    Look at the repair ticket.
    If it doesn't say that they did the alignment, then fuss a little.
    See what happens.

    If they don't budge, then tell them that the "Change Brand" light just flickered on in your wheelhouse.
    Then consider how long you're going to keep the car and start looking for signs of misalignment before you pay for an alignment-----ESPECIALLY if you're going to be getting new tires soon.
    You may want to kick the alignment to the future and do it after you get your next tires.

    Your call.

    Is this a TSB ? If so it might detail the required repairs.
    Or you could look up repair in the TIS

    I looked at the TIS manual for Gen2 -- section 51, pages 5 - 12
    Disassembly of the entire column does require front alignment inspection and adjustment -- step 46

    Great News, I'll show this to the TOYOTA DEALER= TIS manual for Gen2 -- section 51, pages 5 - 12
    Disassembly of the entire column does require front alignment inspection and adjustment -- step 46

    So everyone that has done it, REQUIRES a FREE Alignment when the Prius Intermediate Shaft Replacement Recall is Done.

    ```Thanks for the info!!!
    If they only change the bolt, no alignment is done
    I'm not sure your conclusion is correct since replacement of the intermediate shaft is only a partial disassembly.
    I don't know the answer -- I'm only suggesting that you do not jump to conclusions.
    addendum: I've attached the TIS sub-section. The Intermediate shaft comes out by step 11. For the little it is worth (I am not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination,) it is not obvious to me that an alignment is needed.
    I took my 2008 back when the steering wheel was 15 deg off center after the repair. Ager I complained they did the alignment for free.
    The correct repair is not a wheel alignment.
    I had the steering shaft replaced on my 2008, the paper work does say alignment was done. However my steering wheel was off when I got the car back, they redid the alignment again.
