Just noticed that mine doesn't light up like all the other buttons. Had a hard time finding where it was at night when I had my headlights on. Wondering if this is a defect or was it just made like this. Doesn't seem to make sense having one button not light up like the rest. Thanks in advance fam!

mine is not lit either. I think that's normal. I agree it could have been in a better place. On the floor by the seat leg like on the Camry would have been better.

I really wish the window and door locks always lit up on all the models.

I was astounded that all the buttons inside the door are not lit in the Prime. Same with the bottom left buttons on the dash by my left knee. Don't know what they're thinking. Shouldn't Toyota be about driver safety? Why make us hunt for these any longer than necessary?

I do not know about the answer to your question, but don't worry since there are many folk here in PriusChat who will be able to help you out, however your question scans in a way which reminded me of this song from when I was a nipper, growing up in Blighty:

To be fair, that gas button isn't going to be used often. And when it is used, the gas station is pretty damn bright.

It's not lit on the 2016 either.

Don't worry, Nissan has Toyota beat in this regard. They use the same parts on lots of vehicles and purposefully degrade them for different cars. For example my top of the line Leaf on the driver side door the window up/down and door lock/unlock don't light up at all. But the PCB inside is the same as in the Altima and other vehicles and there is an LED that is there to light it up. Even the plastic has the proper see-through plastic. But Nissan saved 6 LEDs, about a nickel worth of parts, and now my panel doesn't glow. The solder pads are there, just no LEDs.

Wondering what is involved with lighting up the door buttons in the Prime. Might the assembly below it already have wiring for an LED?

AND the "remote garage door opener" buttons on my Advanced fancy schmantcy inside rearview mirror don't light up either, so you've got to do the "Button Grope" in the dark before you run into your automated garage door!

    Mr. DavidA,
All the buttons on the doors of my Advanced light up at night. These are the window, etc. buttons. The trunk light in my car was turned off when I bought the car; didn't even know it was there! Turning it on, allows opening of trunk to turn on the light. So much stuff on this car!

Once turned on, does the rear hatch area light turn itself off when the hatch closes?

Cool. I've got to try that. I might worry, though, that if it is really off, like in refrigerators? A mistake like this once killed my 12v in a previous car.
