Dogfriend: My cat doesn't just love me, she wants to make love to me

Dave ...... I just (a couple of months ago) had an experience with a cat (really a kitten!) that went into heat for the 1st time. She already had an appt. to get fixed, but the heat came first.

That cat went after everything, and everyone in the house! For those of you who haven't experienced it, it's absolute madness.

Also, every single male cat within 10 miles was at the door crying. I'm glad we won't have to go through that again!

Yeah, you want those parts taken care of at a young age. I have the good taste and class to not mention the mess a female pet makes while in heat

 

Poor Dave. With surgery comes........more pills.

 

Dave, I'm feeling your pain. My "free cat", who showed up under the shed weighing just over a pound, demanded the house be kitted out with cat trees, toys etc and cost me mucho dinero for knee surgery (yup - kitty saw an orthopedic specialist, had physical therapy and a long 3 month recovery). She just pushed me to the edge of my chair to get the warm spot where my butt was!

To make life more fun - I'm allergic to her. I take a combo of prescription meds daily. My doc thinks I'm nuts but my new motto is better living through drugs: Yes, your honor, I do inhale, sniff, and gotta have my happy pills. No tracks though. :hippie:

 

My cat makes me pet him while I'm meditating. When I sit there with my thumb and forefinger in that circle he thinks that I am extending my fingers to pet him. So I just meditate on...cats.

 

Aw - that is way too cute! No, my baby wasn't so pretty, she had a long line of staples on her leg with her hind quarter shaved. She's too embarrased for me to show those pics! Here's her baby pictures, how could I say no to that face? It's a problem which persists to this day and she knows it! She mastered "THE Look" quite early.

I lost a cat to heartworm, and she was my little baby. I would come home from work and sit down on the couch, she would hop up onto the arm, lay down and put her paw on my arm and just look at me, purring and kneading. That was 7 years ago and I still miss her, even though I have several cats now, none has taken her place. We just took in 2 more kittens that were abandoned by the barn cats, there were three in a box, one had died, and the other two were starving. Both are doing quite well, and trying to locate a home for them. I have way too many cats and kittens and need to find homes for them, and all have been rescued from certain death.

 

I'm going to lose my cat to lead trauma. This is the soundtrack from my morning office routine:
